This Christmas break I decided to go ahead and take a walk by myself. This was completely my idea and no one else prompted me to do such a thing. I was completely acting on my own accord. Anyways, I took this walk as an opportunity to just really appreciate what was around me. I did not make some incredible discovery about myself and my inner most workings and thoughts, but as I was walking around my neighborhood, I was simply able to appreciate. The rejuvenation the crisp winter air brought to my lungs, the clarity, the peaceful black sky brought my eyes. It was a very nice evening and truly was the definition of head clearing. This walk was just another of the infinite examples God gives to show his craftsmanship.
In addition to the clarity brought to me when I went on this walk, the simplicity of being alone was equally as brilliant. I had no one to try and converse with, no one to try and make laugh, I was able to just relax and take everything into my mind as I wanted to. Neither was there any hustle nor bustle for the first time in a long while. Whether it was family, friends, or a mixture of the two it seemed that I was always around someone or a part of one party or some sort of get together this Christmas season, and this was a welcomed respite.
For the first time in two weeks, there was peace.
